FAQ

School Bus Traffic Flow at Schools

1. School bus traffic flow at schools is a serious concern for the Madison Public Schools. Inadequate parking facilities to meet the growing demands for traffic control, combined with school visitor and faculty parking needs, require strict enforcement of policies and regulations governing the movement of school buses in and out of school facility driveways / parking areas.

2. Parents and visitors to schools are requested to cooperate fully with the school administrators in their efforts to enforce the policies and regulations regarding the traffic flow for school buses and other vehicular traffic entering or leaving the school area.

3. Visitor parking is administered by each school. There are a limited number of designated spaces for this purpose. Please contact the individual school directly for more information.

4. Each school has a designated number of parking spaces to accommodate the needs of handicapped drivers and passengers. School visitors and parents dropping off or picking up students are expected to park in approved areas only, avoiding blocking or using handicap parking spaces. Cooperation is fully appreciated by the school administration and staff, as well as the persons who require use of handicap parking spaces. Please note: Parking in a handicapped space or blocking a handicapped space is a violation that carries an $85 fine.
