Bus Routes and Bus StopsFor specific bus stop/route information, please contact Durham Transportation Services, (203) 318-0777 or Madison Public Schools Central Office, (203) 245-6300. 1. Bus routes are established to provide the most efficient method of safely transporting our students using designated permanent bus stops. 2. Maps of elementary school districts and street assignment lists are provided only as general guidelines. Final determination of school assignment is dependent on multiple factors including current enrollment and class size projections. The Madison Public Schools may vary district boundaries if it is determined that to do so in is the best interest of the district. 3. School buses operate only on roads that are properly maintained and considered safe and appropriate for school bus travel, excluding private roads and roads not currently accepted by the town. 4. Some bus stops have been designated as "cluster stops" for the various neighborhoods throughout the community. These cluster stops allow our transportation service to pick up and drop off students in groups thereby shortening bus route time. 5. Exceptions to established bus stops and / or bus routes may be made to accommodate certain special circumstances for students. All such exceptions must be approved by the school superintendent or their designee
