This team had to create and present a humorous performance about three Eccentric Characters. The performance included a team created ‘problem’ within or involving an earth system that was to be solved by the Eccentric Characters.

This team had to design, build and operate an original vehicle to drive in a road rally that had four checkpoints. At the first three checkpoints, the vehicle competed in a sports related event. At the fourth checkpoint, the team chose three of the events from lists in the problem and created an original sports-related event. The teams also had to develop a theme for its road rally.

7

This team’s problem was to design and build a structure using only balsa wood and glue. The team tested the structure by having it support weights balanced on golf balls without touching anything else. Scoring was based on the amount of weight the structure was able to hold, as well as bonus points for each golf ball used to support the weights.

The “Tee Structure” Team has been invited to compete in the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals at the University of Maryland, May 31-June 3.
