The Board of Education recognized four teachers who are retiring at the end of the 2007-2008 school year at a special reception in their honor. The Board of Education recognized the finalists from the Dr. Robert H. Brown Middle School Grade 5 Declamation Contest held on May 22, 2008, and presented each of them with Certificates of Recognition signed by Mr. Klein and Chairman Hale. |

The Board of Education recognized Daniel Hand High School World Languages Teacher Paul Curran, who is a recipient of the Fulbright Foundation Award to Non-Native Teachers of Chinese. Mr. Curran will travel to China this summer for six weeks of study. He was presented with a Certificate of Recognition signed by Mr. Klein and Chairman Hale. The Board of Education recognized Daniel Hand High School Junior Nicole Poulter, who was named Best Female Soloist at the recent 2008 Festivals of Music held in Virginia Beach, VA. Ms. Poulter was presented with a Certificate of Recognition signed by Mr. Klein and Chairman Hale. |

The Board of Education recognized Walter C. Polson Middle School Social Studies Teacher Kate Robertson, who recently traveled to China to represent the Madison Public Schools in their Partnership with Taiain #6 Middle School in Shandong Province.
